DESCRIPTION:All are welome to participate in the Veterans Day Hero Challenge!\nOn Wednesday, November 11, in celebration of Veterans Day and to honor our service men and women, the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis will be hosting our annual VETERANS DAY HERO CHALLENGE.\nThis event will be offered at the Jordan and Fishers YMCAs.\nThis workout — completing 1,000 step-ups (various heights, with or without weights) — honors Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson, who took his life on October 29, 2018. After numerous deployments, Chad suffered from the effects of several traumatic brain injuries, blast wave injuries, and PTSD.\nOur goal is to not only bring awareness to the epidemic of suicide and mental health, particularly among veterans, but also to help be a part of the solution: Proceeds from this event will support veteran health initiatives.\nThe workout can be modified for all fitness levels.\nAll proceeds from the workout will be used to benefit Veterans programs and services at the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis.\nAll participants will receive a new custom event patch — one for the overall Hero Challenge 2026 series, and one for the Memorial Day event.\nPlease join us!\nWED.
