YMCA AT THE ATHENAEUM UPDATE: REOPENING JUNE 1

In accordance with Gov. Holcomb’s Back On Track Indiana roadmap, the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis began its phased reopening with three Centers outside of Marion County opening on May 24: the Fishers YMCA in Fishers; the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA in Avon; and the Witham Family YMCA in Lebanon. Eight additional YMCA Centers, including here at the YMCA at the Athenaeum. will reopen on June 1 in alignment with Mayor Hogsett’s plans for Indianapolis. Athenaeum Parking Lot Closed for Construction

The parking lot used by members and guests of the YMCA at the Athenaeum is closing soon for the construction of new neighborhood development project. Alternative parking options nearby.

SELECT POOLS ARE OPEN; MORE ON JUNE 1! RESERVE YOUR POOL TIME ON THE Y APP

The YMCAs that reopened on May 24 are the Fishers Y (Fishers),  the Hendricks Regional Health Y (Avon), and the Witham Family Y (Lebanon).

Each of these facilities has an indoor pool which also opened on Sunday, May 24, and the Fishers outdoor pool opened on Monday, May 25.

For the Marion County YMCAs opening on June 1, the following have pools:

  • Baxter YMCA (indoor & outdoor)
  • Benjamin Harrison YMCA (indoor & outdoor)
  • Irsay Family YMCA (indoor)
  • Jordan YMCA (indoor & outdoor)
  • OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA (indoor)
  • Ransburg YMCA (indoor & outdoor)
  • There will be signage around the pool areas regarding physical distancing.
  • Indoor pools are currently reserved for lap swimming only. You must reserve your lane on the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis App. That process is outlined below. 
  • For locations with outdoor pools, you will need to reserve a time for entry (so we can monitor capacity for physical distancing) using the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis App through the process outlined below.
  • Please remember to bring your own towel and water bottle.
  • Please note that for Marion County locations, locker rooms and showers will not be available during the initial phase of reopening.

 

If you do not have the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis App, you can download it for FREE on the Apple or Google Play Store.

When you are in the App:

  1. To reserve an indoor pool lap swim time 
    1. Select “Find A Class” tile on the App
    2. Select the Date
    3. Select your swim lane and time (you can filter on the top left of screen)
    4. Select “Book Class” at the bottom of the screen
    5. You are booked!
  2. To reserve at the outdoor pool  
    1. Select “Additional Schedules” on the App
    2. Select correct center name outdoor pool
    3. Click on the Eventbrite Link (URL)
    4. Register for the number of members enjoying the pool
