YMCA AT THE ATHENAEUM HOURS FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3

Wednesday, June 3, hours for our Marion County YMCAs are from 7 AM – 7 PM to support adherence to the County-wide curfew enacted by Mayor Hogsett. Please note the YMCA at the City Market will remain closed at this time, and we will continue to provide updates on our Marion County Y hours.

The parking lot used by members and guests of the YMCA at the Athenaeum is closing soon for the construction of new neighborhood development project. Alternative parking options nearby.

During our temporary closures due to COVID-19 precautions,  YMCA Wellness Advisors are available to help our Members stay on track with fitness and wellness goals!  We are here to help you navigate the new virtual world, directing you to resources to stay active at home, providing a connection to YMCA support systems, even helping with ideas on how to maintain healthy habits during a time of change.  We need each other, and we are here for you.  To request a FREE WELLNESS ADVISOR VIRTUAL VISIT, please email changemylife@indymca.org.  Visits will be held via video conference or phone call, and may be provided in a small group setting.

VIRTUAL AT-HOME WORKOUT CHALLENGE @ At your home!

Want to push yourself and engage with other members even though you’re stuck at home? If so, this VIRTUAL AT-HOME WORKOUT CHALLENGE is just the thing for you!

Simply complete at least three virtual workouts each week.

You’ll find dozens of options with videos at YMCA360.org  and at our special  YMCA member access for Les Mills On Demand (register for free or sign in.)

You can find additional video options with some of your favorite YMCA of Greater Indianapolis instructors on our YouTube channel – just check out our “Y Workouts” playlist.

To help you decide what to do, we’ve compiled a daily workout guide with video suggestions for the type of workout to suit your mood or interest. A downloadable/printable version is via the pink button below, after the direct video links.

Finally, ENJOY our workouts! Don’t forget to log them on the app to get credit for achieving the Challenge.  (You can download the app for FREE from the iPhone or Google Play stores. Simply search “YMCA of Greater Indianapolis”)

Enjoy an evening out – just you adults – while the kids have fun at the YMCA. The evening includes: crafts, games, physical activities, a movie and tons of fun!

Please bring participants with a labeled backpack, water bottle, and close-toed shoes. A meal of pizza and fruit will be served, a snack will be served during the movie. This program is open to children 18 months to 12 years.

The Irsay Family YMCA Mini-Marathon Training Program will prepare you for the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and help you achieve your goal of crossing the finish line after 13.1 miles!

Our training program includes mileage plans, organized training days, equipment information, cross-training suggestions, and nutrition strategies. Join us!

15-week program begins the week of January 13, 2020 and includes:

  • 3 days/week training led by YMCA coaches
  • 2019 YMCA Mini-Marathon technical shirt
  • Expert speakers/materials on topics such as nutrition, injury prevention, and more
  • Running mileage plans
  • Play and Learn child watch services available while you train
  • Must be able to maintain a 15 minute per mile pace
  • New for 2020… by participating in our half marathon training, you are automatically added to our 2020 Running Club
Training sessions will vary between 45 minutes and up to 3 hours, depending on mileage and pace. Sessions begin and end in the Irsay Family Y lobby. All training sessions are scheduled to be outdoors. Participants need to dress appropriately and wear reflective clothing.

*Saturday runs are open to all registered participants.  Training fee does not include race registration.  All participants are responsible for own race registration. You will need to register separately for the 2020 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini- Marathon online at www.indymini.com.
