I went from completely sedentary and overwhelmed with being a mom/wife/probation officer, to working out 5-7 times per week between the Athenaeum and Irsay. My stress level was greatly reduced, my general happiness increased, and my mood had been much better overall. This has affected my family - encouraging them to make healthier choices, being happier because I’m not being grumpy to them, and getting everyone to do exercise TOGETHER! I have doubt that any other workout program or gym could motivate me the way the Y does. The staff get me up and moving (happily) at 6am! They motivate me to keep going even when I feel like I can’t do a single second more. I miss my Y staff so much, but I am so grateful that there have been e-workouts posted (shout-out to Erika!) so that I can still get my sweat on and can “see” my instructors.
