At the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, sports and recreational activities are always available year-round. With the vast number of sports offered, we want to create an environment that focuses on a healthy lifestyle, confidence building, developing new skills, and teamwork.
Learn a new sport or enhance your current skills through the sports programs and clinics offered year-round at the Y. And the variety of our sports programming will help individuals make healthy choices, build relationships, and improve their physical condition. More importantly, the supportive environment that surrounds the YMCA leads to an enjoyable time and participants see the benefits of being healthy and active.

The YMCA Youth Basketball Leagues are designed to give participants the chance to develop their knowledge and skills in a positive and highly instructional environment.
League will focus on skill development and the fundamentals of basketball. All games will be played at your local YMCA Center; however, participants in our Travel Basketball Leagues will play games at other YMCA locations. Previous basketball experience necessary for the Travel League.View Days & Times

Youth Sports Leagues
This is a progressive baseball skill development league
This coed league focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the sport. Everyone will play no matter what the skill or ability.View Days & Times
YMCA GIRLS BASKETBALL IS DESIGNED TO GIVE PARTICIPANTS THE CHANCE TO DEVELOP THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN A POSITIVE AND HIGHLY INSTRUCTIONAL ENVIRONMENT.
League will focus on skill development and the fundamentals of basketball.
(ages 8-9, 10-13) Girls Only
We will have practice one day week, to be determined at the parent meeting. Not able to attend? All your team and league information can be found at the Member Services desk, following the parent meeting.
Game days are on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm; times will vary based on age group. All games will be played at your local YMCA Center.
Each participant will receive a shirt on their first day of games.
We are always in need of volunteer coaches. If you have any interest in volunteering, please talk to us at Member Services or contact your Center’s Sports Director.

Youth Futsal provides an exciting opportunity for kids who may be new to the sport of soccer

Youth Sports Clinics
Interactive skill development lead by the YMCA’s best youth basketball coaches. YMCA basketball clinics will help prepare your athlete for wherever basketball will take them, by developing a “love” of the sport. Through positive reinforcement, skill development, and coach interaction our clinics will enhance each player’s desire for basketball, while teaching proper techniques for future achievement. Athletes will run through various skill drills to improve their agility and sharpen their practice skills. Each clinic will practice one time a week for 4 weeks.View Days & Times
YMCA baseball clinics are the perfect place to start your young athlete. Our clinics helping athletes, who are new to the sport, build the fundamental baseball skills, such as throwing, batting, field play, and general game procedures. For our more advanced players will develop skills and practice in the areas of batting, fielding, throwing and base running. Athletes will learn the rules of baseball as well as team concepts and sportsmanship. These clinics are ideal for any youth baseball player looking to improve their baseball skills, or a player who wants to learn the fundamentals of baseball. Athletes have the opportunities to practice and refine their soccer skills through a games-centered teaching approach lead by the YMCA’s best youth soccer coaches. Soccer clinics focus on developing the heart of the sports. Through positive reinforcement and coach interaction our clinics will enhance each player’s desire for soccer, while teaching proper soccer techniques for future soccer achievement. Throughout our various Soccer Clinics, you will work on various techniques and skills based on your age and level, some of these techniques include dribbling, passing, receiving, shielding, and shooting. At the Y, our Volleyball Clinics are designed to be developmental, providing athletes of all ages and skill levels, the opportunity to learn the best practices of the sport
Like basketball, volleyball was invented at a YMCA to give members and participants an active game to play indoors. Now volleyball is one of the most popular games at outdoor barbecues, in highschool and collegiate athletics, and even at the Olympics. Take TaeKwonDo the martial art of Korea
TaeKwonDo utilizes both foot and hand techniques. Training emphasizes flexibility, stamina, balance and coordination. This class enhances confidence, discipline, and physical fitness. Classes meet once per week for seven weeks. A uniform may be purchased from instructor on first class. Sparring pads are also required and available per the instructor.

Youth Hip-Hop incorporates the styles of jazz and hip-hop. Students will learn the proper technique and skills to accurately execute choreographed dances.

Style, poise, posture, and discipline are taught in these beginner and advanced ballet classes
Parents are asked to stay outside of all ballet classes so participants can concentrate and focus on the skills being taught. Parents will have the opportunity to see a culmination of skills learned throughout the session on the last day of class.View Days & Times
Our parent/child classes promote early motor development, while they explore the gymnastics events. These mostly unstructured classes encourage free play using age-appropriate gymnastics equipment. Tumbling Classes you’ll flip for!
We teach athletes to tumble, run, jump and twist in our program while helping them to develop muscular strength, flexibility and body awareness. Our programs are designed to provide a safe, nurturing environment for athletes to develop tumbling skills, as well as the four YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The YMCA Track and Field Program provides an introduction to track and field events

Age groups will be divided and run in a shotgun-style meet. Class session will culminate with a cross country meet with runners from YMCAs throughout the greater Indianapolis area.View Days & Times
(Ages 7-14yrs, Coed) Keep your heart healthy and body strong in the beginner class designed to increase coordination and learn jump rope techniques. Cheerleaders will build self-confidence and self-esteem while developing social skills and healthy relationships with other girls.
