Diversity Commitment
The YMCA is Committed to Diversity
Principles of a Welcoming Diversity In The Community:
To foster the best possible environment, the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis strives to cultivate a climate of fairness, inclusion, cooperation, and professionalism. These principles of a welcoming community are vital to the well-being of the Association, its constituents, and, by example, the community it serves.
Diversity Policy Statement:
The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis places high priority on using diverse suppliers in driving innovation, ingenuity, and project results. The Y is committed to supporting and encouraging economic growth and business opportunities in Central Indiana by strengthening relationships with minority-, women-, disabled- and veteran-owned (XBE) business enterprises in the procurement of goods and supplies, use of professional services, and in the construction and renovation of facilities.
The Y’s goal is to support equity of opportunity and access for certified XBE businesses. All YMCA departments are expected to explore diverse sourcing opportunities and to identify and be inclusive of XBE businesses in the procurement process.

Guiding Principle: Diversity:
We value DIVERSITY; therefore, we will create an environment where all are welcome, programs are inclusive, and board, staff, partners, and vendors reflect the makeup of our community. This includes providing opportunities for women, minority, and veteran-owned business enterprises to participate in the procurement of goods, supplies, and services and in the construction and renovation of facilities.
