Have you been asking to stay home alone? Do you want to babysit? Have you completed 5th grade? Then maybe it’s time for Safe Sitter®. Safe Sitter® isn’t just a class, it’s a cause! Learn how to be the sitter that every parent and child wants! This class will educate on how to:
- Interact with young children
- Basic First Aid
- Many other important areas of a proper babysitter
- Registration is required
- Open to ages 11 – 18
- Students must bring a lunch

Janet Evans is the first American woman to win four individual Olympic gold medals in swimming. She began swimming at a year old at the North Orange County YMCA. By the age of 17 she’d set three world records. Evans won a total of 4 gold medals at the 1988 and 1992 Olympics. Evans became the first woman to win back-to-back Olympic and world championship titles in any one swimming event by winning the 1988 and 1992 Olympic gold medals and the 1991 and 1994 world championships in the 800-meter freestyle race among many other notable achievements. Today Evans lives in California with her spouse and two children.

In this demonstration class, our talented chef will show step-by-step recipe preparation of nutrient-dense recipes. Students are provided recipes to take notes as they watch and learn the important culinary techniques, ingredient choices, equipment selection and meal-timing associated with the recipe. These classes incorporate both hands-on and lecture-style instruction. Students will have the opportunity to try each recipe at the end of class! This class recipe is Winter Superfood Buddha Bowls, which includes:
• Roasted Brussel Sprouts
• Roasted Sweet Potato
• Feta cheese
• Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette
Enjoy an evening out – just you adults – while the kids have fun at the YMCA. Please bring participants with a labeled backpack, water bottle, close-toed shoes, athletic wear, and swim suit. Snack will be provided. This program is open to children 18 months to 12 years.The evening includes:
