18th Annual YMCA Holiday Toy Drive @ 12 area YMCAs
Oct 22 – Dec 13 all-day

The need is great in Indianapolis

Santa hopes to deliver toys to more than 1,000 families in need this holiday season, but he needs your help! 12 area YMCAs are collecting new toys through Dec. 13 for the 18th annual YMCA Toy Drive event presented by Tom Wood Automotive Group. With help from the community, the YMCA hopes to provide 2-3 toys to more than 3,000 children up to age 15 from low-income families and area shelters.

Families must pre-register

Families who need holiday assistance must pre-register online by Nov. 29. View registration instructions or call (317) 549-9622 for more information. Toys will be distributed to families from 8 a.m. – noon on Dec. 15 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center.

Y needs more Secret Santas like Bill

William Demaree, group director of fixed operations, and the Tom Wood Automotive Group team collected more than $42,000 worth of toys and donations last year. Many of these donations were bikes—hundreds of them—pre-assembled in a make-shift toy shop at its north side dealership.

“Every child should be able to experience the joy of receiving a new toy this holiday season,” says Bill. But not everyone can afford to buy gifts for their children. We know Greater Indianapolis residents have generous hearts, and we’re asking for their help.”

Read how Bill got involved and how he saved Christmas for the kids.

The gift-giving program has brought joy and relief to over 40,000 families who may otherwise not be able to provide gifts to their children since it began 17 years ago.
