It's not too late to register kids for Summer Camp

Summertime is here and you need care for your kids. Look no further than your own YMCA! With Traditional Summer Camp, Enrichment Camps, Sports Camps and more, you will surely find a spot for your little adventurer.

Proof in the numbers

In 2018, the Benjamin Harrison YMCA service area helped 615 children make new friends throughout 10 weeks of camp. At camp, children enjoy hands-on learning, field trips, swimming, guest speakers, special projects and plain old outdoor fun. Other camps focus on sports or other special activities for the week.

With 3 new locations on the northeast side this year, you can now choose from 7: Benjamin Harrison YMCA, Brook Park Elementary, Fortville Memorial Park, Harris Elementary, Mary Castle Elementary, New Palestine Intermediate and Incrediplex. And don’t forget, we offer over 30 locations across central Indiana. You’ll find them all in the  2019 Camp Guide.

The Y is for all

Last year, we implemented a new accommodation process to make sure we serve students with diverse-abilities to the best of our ability. The Y also partnered with Kids Included Together to provide inclusion-based training to staff. This partnership assists in our quest to fulfill the Y’s mission by providing programs that are truly for all.

To underscore this commitment, families in challenging situations received over $16,000 in YMCA financial assistance for summer camp.

Great experiences

Throughout the summer last year, parents provided us with fantastic feedback.

“Daniel is a new YMCA camper. His older brother, Luke, has been attending Y Camp and Before & After School care for a while, and Daniel was so excited to join in on the fun he’d been hearing about. His favorite part of camp was getting to ride the school bus for a field trip for the very first time. Daniel not only experienced fun field trips, guest speakers and activities, but he also made new friends and amazing memories. He loved his first experience at a YMCA camp, and he can’t wait for this summer!”

“My daughter has fun and is already becoming friends with the other kids and the leaders there. She is excited to go to learn and play!”

“My granddaughter loves the camp, she loves the interaction with the other children, and they keep her busy, giving her lots of activities.”

In good hands

“We’ve been prepping all year for summer and it’s finally here! Staff is fully trained and ready to make this an awesome summer for each child who attends.”
