Every YMCA Personal Trainer has specialized education and training skills. They have acquired and maintained certification through universities and nationally recognized training programs such as ACE (American Council on Exercise) and ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine).

What do you do outside of the Y?
I am a student part time or full time depending on the semester, and I love spending time with my family.

One interesting fact about you:
I love to cook, my grandmother taught me when I was 8 years old.

I like to travel, powerlift, and I work at GNC

One interesting fact about you:
I got into fitness after suffering two broken ankles, doctors thought I would have trouble walking, but with exercise it has changed my life.

I wasn’t allowed sugar as a kid . Despite that, I still love my mom.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about fitness?
Weight training does not cause women to become ‘bulky’ or ‘too big’, it is important for everyone!

Pull ups, and pull up variations

What do you do outside of the Y?
I am a student working on a Kinesiology degree, and I am an avid and formerly competitive rock climber.

One interesting fact about you:
I was a champion rock climber when I was a kid.

You don’t need a bunch of equipment to be strong and healthy.

Own a mini farm, Train my German Shepherds, Be outside

I have a 1st degree Black Belt in Shito Ryu Karate

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about fitness?
Even the “small” things count. You don’t have to run a marathon, but you do have to move.

I like to cook, and learn new recipes!

I love muscle cars.

Spend time with my family and friends, practice my photography skills on anyone or thing who will let me.

My very first job was with the YMCA.

Exercising does not have to feel boring or monotonous. The possibilities of what you can do are endless! There is something for everyone to enjoy.

What do you do outside of the Y?
If I’m not working, I like to read, bake, hike, or visit family and friends. I’m in the process of learning more about astronomy too!

One interesting fact about you:
Travelling to Greece is at the top of my bucket list!

Stretching after your workout is key, your muscles can shorten without it!
