NEWS + STORIES
Fishers Y member David Georg

Fishers Y member David Georg was selected as the "Inspire Us" story winner from the Fishers YMCA.

I have been overweight most of my life and I developed high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and I am a type two diabetic. I joined Weightwatchers and started to lose weight, but I needed to exercise and increase my physical activity to improve my overall health. I needed direction to keep on course, as I found it difficult to push myself in the correct way to obtain my objectives. After my first session with JoLynn, I knew I had made the correct choice.

More flexible, better balance

From the beginning, I felt more flexible. Putting on my socks and tying my shoes became easier. Picking items off the floor and just standing after sitting became easier. My balance improved and could clime stairs with out using side rails.  JoLynn keeps me on course, I need her coaching and motivation to improve my strength in my legs and to improve my overall flexibility. She does all of this well and I have seen the improvements in these areas since working with JoLynn.

So far, I have lost over 60 pounds and I'm on my way to lose 40 more. I feel great and my health has greatly improved with lower blood pressure and my blood sugars at an almost normal level.

I am thankful for the Y’s personal training because it works!  It is now a key to my continued success. I feel like JoLynn really cares to see me succeed. I have been blessed all through my life with extraordinary people and JoLynn is one of them.
