Tammy Shook joined the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA through the Silver Sneakers program and instantly felt like she found a second home.
“From the first time I walked through the door, everyone was so helpful, and I never felt out of place.”
Tammy first got into volunteering at the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA in 2016 by helping with the Gobble Gallop 5K and Breakfast with Santa. Not only has exercising and eating right helped Tammy with her physical and mental outlook, but so has volunteering.
Now, you can find Tammy volunteering for Active Older Adult programs, large events and as a member of the Togetherhood project.
“I love that the YMCA has other activities and volunteer opportunities that create a community. There is something for every aspect of your life at the YMCA.”
