The Center Advisory Board and staff of the Witham Family YMCA is proud to announce the hiring of their new executive director, Kim Newnam. She joins the Witham Family YMCA with nearly 30 years of experience working in various positions throughout several YMCAs, most recently as the associate executive director at the Benjamin Harrison YMCA in Indianapolis.
Newnam began her role with the Witham Family YMCA on June 4. “I am very passionate about the YMCA and the mission of the organization,” says Newnam. “I look forward to being a part of the Lebanon community.
Newnam is a graduate of Ben Davis High School and Trine University, where she earned a degree in communications and physical education. She began her YMCA career working at the YMCA of Honolulu, followed by a stint at the Grand Rapids YMCA. She has spent the last 21 years working at YMCAs that are a part of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis – the YMCA association that the Witham Family YMCA belongs to.
Shannon Russell, previous executive director of the Witham Family YMCA, was promoted to major gifts officer for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis in April. Russell will focus on developing partnerships and raising funds for the new Westfield YMCA project.
