Needed: Passionate, Caring People Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent and undergo a background check. “We are looking for positive, passionate people who would like to be a role model and help shape young lives,” said Colleen Horan, community vice president of Youth Development, YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. ‘Y Buddy’ Volunteers Also Needed The YMCA is also seeking 26 volunteers to be a “Y Buddy” in the After School program. A Y Buddy volunteers from 3 – 6 p.m. on the first day of each month and provides one-on-one support to students with diverse needs. The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is the largest provider of school-age programs in the Indianapolis area. Serving students in Kindergarten through 12 years of age, YMCA Before and After School programs, keep youth active and engaged in a safe place where they continue to learn.
