Celebrate your love at the YMCA

School gyms aren’t the only place for dancing with your sweetheart. Eight area YMCAs are hosting Valentine’s events for families Feb. 9 and 16—the affordable kind.

Each of the Valentine’s events (except at the Baxter YMCA) are open to the public. Admission ranges from free at the Ransburg YMCA to $15-20 a couple, $5 for individuals and less for YMCA members. Family pricing is also available. The Ransburg YMCA will host a special event for older adults.

Having a dance is good for you

“Feeling loved and connected contributes to a happy state of mind. Vigorous cardio exercise like dancing releases endorphins. So a Valentine’s Day Dance is most certainly good for your heart!” says Matt Larson, Wellness Director, Ransburg YMCA and DJ for the event. “These positive vibes are also good for the soul of our communities.”
