Annual events bring fun for the entire community

Running targets everyone’s favorite problem areas; it tightens your glutes and flattens your abs. You can also burn up to 700 calories per hour, raise your heart rate, lower blood pressure, and relieve stress – all while toning and shaping your body.

The Y is offering several races across the city, so now is the perfect time to sign up and at the same time raise money to support the fitness and wellness journeys of neighbors, family and friends.

OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA Heroes Health Hope 5K – Saturday, Nov. 13

When you, your friends and family participate in the Heroes Health Hope 5K, you support our Annual Campaign, which ensures that community members of all ages can experience the benefits of Y membership, including health, fitness and education – regardless of their financial situation.

Along with our traditional in-person Heroes Health Hope 5K, we also have a virtual option that you can complete anytime in November.

New, this year, the in-person 5K will start and end at the OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA. We are excited for this new route and “hope” that you will like it too.

More information and registration options can be found here.

11th Annual Wishbone 5k at the Fishers YMCA – Thursday, Nov. 25

The Wishbone 5k run/walk is an annual Thanksgiving event for the entire community.  This family-friendly run will be celebrating its 11th year, and we hope you’ll join us!

This year, we also have virtual/at-home 5k and 10k options.  Participants who select the virtual option can run on their own time, whenever it fits best into their schedule, between 11/25 and 12/25.

All proceeds from the run will benefit the Fishers YMCA Annual Campaign.  Through donations and contributions to the Annual Campaign, we ensure that everyone can participate in membership and programs at the Y.

More information and registration options can be found here.

Hendricks Regional Health YMCA Gobble Gallop 5K – Thursday, Nov. 25

The Hendricks Regional Health YMCA Gobble Gallop 5K is celebrating 10 Years of Giving, Galloping & Gathering! Along with our traditional in-person Gobble Gallop 5K, we have two virtual options that you can complete anytime in November:

Gobble Gallop 5K  – Out of state, want to sleep in, or prefer to run whenever you want? You have the option to run the official Gobble Gallop 5K course on your own time virtually with the RaceJoy app or complete a course of your choosing.

Leftover 10K  – Earn those Thanksgiving leftovers with a little extra challenge. The Gobble Gallop 5K + an extra 5K = The Leftover 10K! This event is strictly virtual.
In 2020, we were able to give over $286,500 in financial assistance to our westside community.
