Updated: Thursday, July 9, 2020

Hello,

We’ve really missed seeing you around here, and we’re glad to be open again!

The health and well-being of our members, staff and community is our priority. We are continuing to take extra precautions in our Ys, including health screenings, social/physical distancing and enhanced cleaning protocols, with guidance from state and local authorities. Please see our Reopening Guide for additional information and stay tuned for updates as we respond to evolving guidelines.

Although, in alignment with anticipated demand, the YMCA at the City Market remains closed at this time, a benefit of membership includes access to our 11 other locations, including the YMCA at the Athenaeum and the Irsay Family YMCA at CityWay in downtown Indianapolis.

Please know we’ll be taking some extra precautions as we reopen:

OUR STAFF WILL BE WEARING FACE MASKS and beginning Thursday, July 9, everyone 3 years of age and older must also wear a mask to enter our YMCAs. (There are specific exceptions for physical, medical or health-related reasons. Please stop at our welcome desk if assistance is needed.)

WE’VE SET NEW OCCUPANCY LIMITS in many areas of our Centers, and we’ve put markers in place to help members maintain appropriate physical distancing.

WE’VE INSTALLED MORE HAND SANITIZER STATIONS around the Centers.

WE’VE ADDED SOME NEW POLICIES including enhanced cleaning protocols.

Here’s what you need to know:

YOU WILL BE ASKED TO ANSWER HEALTH-SCREENING QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU ENTER THE Y  Do you have a fever of 100.4 or greater or any of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing? In the last 14 days, have you been in close contact (within 6 feet) with someone who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis?

BRING A TOWEL, MAT & WATER BOTTLE To help maintain a healthier environment, towel service is suspended and we ask that you please bring your own yoga mat. Water fountains won’t be available, but you can fill your water bottle at one of our refill stations. Locker rooms and showers will not be available in Marion County Ys during the initial phase of reopening.

OPEN GYM WILL OBSERVE PHYSICAL DISTANCING Please bring your own basketball.

DOWNLOAD THE YMCA OF GREATER INDIANAPOLIS APP TO RESERVE A LANE FOR LAP SWIMMING, OR FOR OPEN SWIM AT THE OUTDOOR POOL In the first phase of reopening, indoor pools will be reserved for lap swimming, and outdoor pool times will be scheduled to ensure we maintain proper physical distancing.

GUEST PASSES ON HOLD Guest passes are not available for sale or redemption during this time, and Nationwide Membership is temporarily suspended.

REOPENING HOURS Our YMCAs are from 5 AM – 8 PM on Monday, with regular weekend hours. Please note the YMCA at the City Market will remain closed at this time.
