The YOGI Swim Club is an Association-wide competitive team that offers year-round and seasonal programs and the opportunity for local and regional competition. Our Age Group division has two training groups for developmental and advanced swimmers, with weekly practices designed by YMCA/ASCA certified staff.
Swimmers must be able to swim two continuous pool lengths of freestyle and show a commitment to develop all four competitive strokes. An evaluation will place swimmers with the appropriate training group. Contact the Aquatics Department for a swim club schedule, fees, and registration information.
Practice is 3-5 days a week and during the off season we meet a minimum of once a month. Our coaches will focus on increasing the endurance and speed, while refining technique in a positive and fun environment.
We focus on character development, learning competitive skills, and having fun. As a team we strive to ingrain a love and passion for the sport of swimming. Our goal is to create a spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship that is centered on the Y’s Four Values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
The Sharks are a swim team designed for swimmers who have the knowledge of competitive swimming, can swim a distance of 50 yards or more without stopping at each end of the pool. These swimmers should be able to swim competitive strokes on their stomachs as well as their backs.

Levels are based on age and ability. Our coaches will attend all practices and meets – giving their all for our team. Swimmers under the age of 8 must be able to swim 25 yards on their stomach without stopping.
Designed for developmental as well as advanced swimmers, team members will compete with other YMCAs as well as other teams in the state.
