At the heart of all YMCA of Greater Indianapolis programs is a sense of inclusion and community and our Speical Interest programs are no exception. Here adults will find the company of other like-minded individuals, form friendships, gain confidence, and purpose.

Active Older Adult Program

Stay active at any age
Do you suffer from arthritis or other physical or joint limitations? Our YMCA offers several low-intensity physical activity programs that will increase strength and improve range of motion. Also, join us for monthly social events and luncheons.

Bike in Breakfast

Calling all commuters!
Join us for a Bike In Breakfast on the 3rd Friday of every month (April through October). Refuel with a great breakfast before heading into work.

Commuter 101 Lunch & Learn

Come gather with friends on the 2nd Thursday of every month
(February through October) Learn about all things cycling. Topics range from riding in inclement weather, to proper gear to the best routes to take.

Heartsaver® CPR AED

Heartsaver® CPR AED
Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. This course can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.  Upon successful completion of the course, including a CPR and AED skills test, students receive a Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years.

Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements.  First aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and environmental emergencies are included in the course.  Upon successful completion of the course, including a first aid skills test, students receive a Heartsaver First Aid course completion card, valid for two years.

Journey to Freedom

Tools for Life's Ups and Downs
Journey to Freedom is a group of individuals who meet to talk openly and honestly about the real struggles that keep them feeling stuck. Whether you are trying to lose weight, keep a relationship afloat, or work through other issues or concerns, the Journey to Freedom group gives you a unique set of tools to deal with disappointment, decision making, failure, grief, discontentment, or any type of challenge that you are facing.

Hey Seniors, Let's Get Social
Our monthly Senior Socials and Meet & Greet events are designed to provide social time. Activities may vary by location, so check with your YMCA Member Services Desk for more information. We have an awful lot of fun at our Senior Socials and Meet & Greets, so invite your friends to come along and connect with others.


Together for a Better Us
This member-led volunteer service program unites Y members and neighbors from diverse backgrounds to plan and lead service projects that strengthen their communities. Contact the YMCA for more information and to get involved. FREE to the community

Adult Coffee Talk

Meet up and socialize with other adults every Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. during our Coffee Talk.
This is a free activity so no registration is necessary, but bringing a food dish to share is always welcome. We'd love to see you soon!

Book Club

Stimulate your mind and chapter chat in our book club.
Books are chosen by the group and reflect the diverse interest of the readers. Coffee and Tea are available. Program fee includes a copy of the book and culminating luncheon at the end of the session. Check with our Member Services Desk for location, book cost, and next session date.

Cooking Matters

Learn to cook healthy meals for your family
Cook nutritious and delicious food on a budget. Ask a nutritionist your questions and learn to prepare healthy meals. Complete the program and receive a FREE incentive. Spaces are limited. for more information, contact Marci Reyes at 317.549.9622.

Creative Cooking

Children will learn to cook easy-to-prepare foods for the family
New recipes each week. Table manners and etiquette will be discussed.
