Youth Sports
It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you learn the game.
At the YMCA we have the perfect fit for your child’s interests. Participants in our programs build new skills, learn about teamwork, focus on sportsmanship, and make new friends. Children will learn firsthand the fundamentals of the sport while having fun.
Youth Sports We Offer
Youth have fun and learn new skills while playing baseball – America’s favorite pastime! The Y offers leagues based on ages and skill levels. Participants will gain confidence and learn about good sportsmanship and teamwork.
YMCA Basketball leagues are fun for all ages and skill levels. Basketball can provide the opportunity for friendly competition, while incorporating skill building and good sportsmanship.
Grab your shoes and run! This Track & Field league is designed to introduce children to the lifelong sport of running. This program is designed to teach the basics of correct running techniques in a team environment. This is a co-ed team and instructional league for kids and teens ages 6-15 years old. Build confidence in your skills of running, jumping, and throwing. No requirements other than good running shoes, athletic shorts and energy! Plus, we have a city-wide track meet twice a year.
It’s the fun of football without the pads. Learn the fundamentals, basic footwork, fair play, and good sportsmanship without the risk of heavy contact.
This program incorporates self-discipline with martial arts movements while allowing for advancement at the individual student’s pace. Pick from Tae Kwon Do, Karate or Judo, taught by trained instructors at the Y. Classes are offered at many levels.
Designed to encourage participation and to have fun, kids are taught basic soccer skills such as trapping, dribbling, passing and shooting as well as goalie skills.
The program gives kids foundational skills, and the experience that helps them enjoy the sport for a lifetime! Your child will learn how to throw, catch, field and hit correctly, and the positions of the game. With YMCA T-Ball, children ages 3-12 will be introduced to the game and learn how to hit the ball from a tee.
The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis offers youth volleyball programs and clinics at many of our centers. New at Volleyball? Don’t worry! We will teach the game to first-time players as well as sharpen skills for returning players.
