In YMCA basketball programs, kids learn the fundamentals, improve their skills and grow as teammates. With supportive coaches and a welcoming environment, players can stay active, make friends and have fun on the court.

Learn the game. Join the team.

Rec leagues are a welcoming place to start. Kids learn basketball basics, practice teamwork and get time on the court.

Clinics give players extra time to work on dribbling, passing, shooting and other basketball skills with a coach.

All City gives experienced players the chance to build their game and compete against teams from YMCA centers across Greater Indianapolis.

Uniform Information

A YMCA game jersey is required for all youth sports participants. Uniform shorts are optional, and jerseys can be reused from season to season.

Girls using code HERCOURT: Your jersey fee is covered. Please do not order through Augusta Sportswear. Contact your Sports Director for ordering instructions.

All other players: Order your jersey through Augusta Sportswear via the link before. Jerseys typically arrive within 3–5 days, so please order before your first game.

How Can I Help?

The best thing you can do is support your child, encourage them and help them have fun. Youth sports are a place to learn, grow, make friends and enjoy the game.

Want to do more? Volunteer as a coach or assistant coach and help kids grow on and off the court.

What Families Need to Know

Have questions about a program? Stop by Member Services at your YMCA center or email sports@indymca.org.

You’ll receive details about your child’s coach, location, schedule and other important information. If you don’t receive them, email sports@indymca.org.

Yes. Rec leagues and many skills programs are designed for kids who are new to basketball as well as those with some experience.

To ensure that we are able to meet the needs and schedules of our local communities, practice and game schedules vary by program and location. Exact details are shared after registration.

Our basketball rec programs are generally held at their host YMCA center. All City and some other programs may include games at YMCA locations across Greater Indianapolis.

Yes. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify. Stop by Member Services at any YMCA of Greater Indianapolis center to learn more or email sports@indymca.org.

Yes. YMCA members receive special pricing on youth sports programs. You can find those rates in the Y registration system.
