On Christmas Eve, the Irsay Family YMCA, Go Church Indy and the H.O.P.E. Team, are partnering for a very special community outreach event to bring hope to friends and neighbors this holiday season.
Homelessness is a reality in our communities and our nation as a whole. People for whatever reason have in some way, shape or reason of occurrence, have fallen through the cracks in our cities and do not have the same blessings as others more fortunate having material and financial opportunities. H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Prosper Economically) the Irsay Family YMCA at CityWay and Go Church Indy are partnering this Christmas Eve for the annual “Hope for Christmas” breakfast.
We will embrace those less fortunate in our community at this event. While there are many established Christmas events for children, Hope for Christmas seeks to serve 150 adults. We are partnering to do service and give service to homeless individuals on Christmas Eve.
Fellowship, needed items, music, prayer
This FREE event will provide fellowship and needed supplies to our adult homeless friends and neighbors during the holiday season. The open house begins at 10 AM, and individuals who have been referred will receive Christmas bags full of useful items, such as winter clothing (sweaters, gloves, scarves, hats), three pairs of shoes, snacks, wallets, purses and more to help them on their journey as well as a hot breakfast. There will be music, an opportunity for prayer and an atmosphere to let them know that they are cared about and supported.
