July 4th Partner Hero Challenge

The July 4th Partner Hero Challenge is an opportunity to go it alone, or grab a partner or group of friends to honor our fallen heroes by completing the Hero Workout, “Bert,” virtually from wherever you choose, anytime between July 1-9.

Once you’ve completed the workout, take a picture of you and your partner/group together, share it on social media (tag us @indymca),  and use the hashtag #YMCAHeroChallenge.

HONORING ALBERT “BERT” GETTINGS
U.S. Marine Cpl. Albert Gettings, 27, of New Castle, Pa., died on Jan. 5, 2009, while conducting counter-sniper operations in Fallujah, Iraq. Cpl. Gettings was serving as a team leader with the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, of Camp Lejeune, NC, at the time of his death.
