YMCA SUMMER CHILDCARE IS HERE!
At the YMCA, providing safe, high quality, and enriching experiences for all youth has always been our purpose, and even in today’s world, this promise remains true. YMCA summer childcare programs are full of life-changing experiences, unforgettable memories, and keep the health of kids, their families, and our staff as our top priority.
Here are a few of the ways we are helping everyone stay healthy this summer:
- Smaller Group Sizes: Children will stay in small groups throughout the week to avoid unlimited contact.
- Scheduled Hand Washing Breaks: Children will wash hands throughout the day to keep germs away.
- Sanitizing Spaces & Supplies: All program spaces and equipment will be disinfected regularly.
- Curbside Drop-Off & Pick-Up: Contact will be at a minimum as children enter and leave the program.
- Lowered Program Capacities: To ensure social distancing, the number of children and staff in a space will be smaller.

Growing Great Leaders
The YMCA is a place not only to explore and play, but a place for kids to learn and develop skills needed as they grow. Our programs help build these skills through focusing on three main outcomes: Achievement, Relationships, and Belonging
We want to make sure that every child tries something new this summer and leaves the YMCA with a new skill. This could be trying their hand at archery, learning how to make friendship bracelets, or even developing their leadership skills by leading a group activity. Every child should have the chance to step outside of their comfort zone to experience new things.
We want to make sure every child makes a connection at the Y with fellow participants and the staff. We want to help kids not only make new friends, but learn how to be good friends, too. We do this through being intentional with team building activities, opportunities to learn about those around us, and using our four core values.
Every child should feel safe and at home at the Y. The YMCA is a space to be yourself and be welcomed by the people around you! We create this sense of belonging through our traditions and the relationships we build.
At the YMCA, we have four core values that are embedded and taught every day. These values are at the core of all YMCA youth programs.
Caring: Being considerate to the needs and feelings of others
Honesty: Being trustworthy and truthful
Respect: Treating others, the environment, and yourself with dignity
Responsibility: Accepting accountability for your actions and role in the community
