Enhance Fitness (Arthritis Management)


Helping Adults with Arthritis or Limited Mobility

Stay active, energized, and empowered in this proven, community-based  fitness and arthritis management program.

Safe, yet challenging, low impact exercises help adults of all fitness levels live independent lifestyles. This program is nationally recognized by the leading US health organizations.

  • Enhance Fitness is designed for adults with Arthritis or mobility challenges/limited mobility.
  • Through EnhanceFitness, participants will work to: increase flexibility, relieve stress, improve arthritic joint stiffness, and decrease their risk of falls and injury.
  • All exercises may be performed seated or standing.
  • Classes are one hour, 3 times per week and led by a certified instructor. They begin with a warm-up period, followed by work with light soft-weights, and finish with a cool-down session.

Exercises are designed to increase muscular strength, as well as range-of-movement

Strengthen those skills required during activities of daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing, and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

Great for the active older adult, SilverSneakers BOOM incorporates three innovative formats to help you live a more active lifestyle

BOOM Cardio uses dance moves to improve cardio endurance. BOOM Muscle focuses on strengthening and toning with athletic strength moves. BOOM Mind combines yoga, Pilates and stretching to improve flexibility and calm the mind. Tuesday and Thursday, 9-10 a.m.

Stability is the newest class designed to help active older adults become stronger and improve balance

The movements taught in class focus on specific exercises to improve strength and power around the ankle, knee and hip joints, while improving your reaction time. This class is designed for fall prevention and is suitable for nearly every fitness level. It can be adapted depending on the skill of individual participants. A chair may be used for balance and support.

SGT: TKO Boxing Circuit


Train like a champion with TKO Boxing Circuit

Our one-of-a-kind boxing class follows a set series of drills to challenge cardio capacity and strength, and will improve agility, speed, power, balance, and flexibility.  This class combines boxing, kickboxing, martial arts, and body weight combinations with the use of heavy bags and partner work.

Great for cross-training, TKO  provides a unique mix of functional training and cardio to challenge the whole body. Gloves are provided; however, we do encourage you to bring your own and/or hand wraps.

Les Mills BodyAttack®


BodyAttack® is a high energy fitness class with moves that cater to both total beginners and total addicts.

We combine athletic moves like running lunging and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats. A certified LES MILLS instructor will pump out energizing tunes and lead you through the workout-challenging your limits in a good way, burning up to 730 calories and leaving you with a great feeling of achievement.

Les Mills BodyPump™


BODYPUMP is for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit fast.

Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 540 calories. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music- helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

Les Mills RPM™


RPM  is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It’s fun, low impact and you can burn up to 675 calories a session. With great music pumping and the group spinning as one, your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding.

Les Mills Virtual classes are part of the Y’s group exercise program. Choose your own workout from the huge Les Mills library of virtual classes, all led by world-class instructors in pre-recorded segments:

Judo


Judo is a martial arts program offered at the YMCA

Judo encourages the principles of attack and defense. This class improves both your health and physical education while strengthening your body’s core.

Kali Stick & Knife Defense


Kali is a weapons-based self-defense system that originated in the Philippines

Its main focus is stick and knife attacks. The YMCA’s Kali Stick & Knife Defense programs will teach you stick and knife techniques, as well as the proper blocking with sticks, angles of attack and footwork that is associated with it.

Karate


Karate training improves the lives of those who participate

Karate instills self-confidence, self-discipline, respect, and responsibility. At the Y, students, in this traditional martial arts program, maintain a healthy lifestyle, get a whole body workout, relieve stress and develop self-defense skills in a non-competitive, welcoming environment.

Mixed Martial Arts


The YMCA’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) programs are an excellent conditioning workout used for technique development and form.

You will learn the striking & conditioning of mixed martial arts and get in fighting shape like an MMA fighter. These classes consist of kicking & punching elbows and knees from muay thai and conditioning from ju-jitsu.

Tae Kwon Do


Take Tae Kwon Do the martial art of Korea

Tae Kwon Do utilizes both foot and hand techniques. Training emphasizes flexibility, stamina, balance and coordination. This class enhances confidence, discipline, and physical fitness. Classes meet once per week for seven weeks. A uniform may be purchased from instructor on first class. Sparring pads are also required and available per the instructor.
