YMCA Camps: Safe & Fun Care When School’s Out
When school is closed, the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA is here for families in the westside community — including Avon, Brownsburg, Plainfield, and Wayne Township neighborhoods — with camps kids love and parents trust. In our School’s Out Camps for school breaks, holidays and professional development days, we create a safe, welcoming space where every child feels they belong.
Our School’s Out Camps combine active play, hands-on learning and meaningful friendships so kids grow in confidence, character and curiosity. Guided by compassionate, skilled staff, your child will be encouraged to try new things, celebrate achievements and build lasting relationships.
We partner closely with parents — because no one knows your child better than you — to ensure every day at camp supports their growth and happiness. At the YMCA, we’re more than a place to be when school’s out, we’re a place to thrive.

General Information
YMCA of Greater Indianapolis camps offers a variety of programs year-round, including during school breaks and summer. Our School’s Out Camps at the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA provide children a fun and safe space to learn, grow and explore their interests.
5 to 12 years of age

Please bring the following items to make the most of your camp experience:
- Lunch
- Two snacks
- Refillable water bottle
- Backpack
- Light jacket
- A swimsuit and towel on swimming days
Please label all items clearly.
We believe every child deserves access to enriching experiences. We offer financial assistance through the generous support of donors. Learn more about our financial assistance program and apply online!
If you are interested in utilizing a CCDF voucher, please contact the Youth Development office at BeforeAndAfterSchool@indymca.org. The closest YMCA School’s Out Camp locations that accepts CCDF vouchers is the OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA.

Explore the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA
Our action-packed School’s Out Camps take place at the Hendricks Regional Helath YMCA!
The Hendricks Regional Health YMCA is a central health-and-wellness hub for the entire community of Avon. Opened in 2011, it’s fully equipped with a range of indoor and outdoor activities.
Inside, explore the 8,000-square-foot wellness center with dozens of strength and cardio machines and free weights. Sample a variety of group exercise classes. Enjoy the aquatic center, featuring a lap pool, a warm water recreation pool, a whirlpool, and a sauna. Or join a pickup game on two full-sized basketball courts. Outside, stroll the 3.2-mile trail, make use of the multi-purpose athletic fields, or enjoy the community garden.
The center also features an outdoor pavilion for day camp, a family center with a play space, a multi-purpose room, and an interdenominational chapel. The Play & Learn Center is available for pre-k childcare, while the Kids Zone is available for children kindergarten age and up. And the adjoining Hendricks Regional Health location offers easy access to complete lab and x-ray services.
