Strength in Community
YMCA Volunteer Chaplains
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea." Psalm 46:1-2
The OrthoIndy Foundation Y is pleased to announce that it will begin offering onsite volunteer chaplaincy services starting in July. Look for more information posted in the center regarding days and hours of availability.
Two of the volunteer chaplains currently serve on the OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA Center Advisory Board and the third is a pastor of One Fellowship Church which meets at the Y on Sundays. Each has a passion for people and will be available at the Y at different times during the week to love, care and serve members and guests of the YMCA. Do you have an idea to strengthen our community at the Y? Would it be helpful to share a burden with another person? Are you in need of prayer for yourself or your loved ones? Meet our volunteers below and look for them in the weeks ahead.
Reggie McGuire: Reggie serves on the OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA Center Advisory Board and Spiritual Emphasis Committee and is an elder at One Fellowship Church. After 20 years in corporate sales and client management, he now works as a self-employed consultant in digital payments and is a professional actor and voice-over artist. A storyteller at heart, he uses stories to educate, encourage and entertain. Reggie has been married to his wife, Lora, for over 25 years, they have four children, a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter. His background in ministry, corporate relations and love of story allows him to connect with diverse groups, offering emotional and spiritual care.
Kyle Dickerson: Kyle is an Indianapolis native, born and raised in Pike Township. He currently serves as a pastor of One Fellowship Church after serving as a worship leader, band director, pastoral intern and church-planting apprentice over the past several years. Kyle is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary. He seeks to use his experience and training to build a movement of people who will love each other and the city of Indianapolis, as they strive to spread the good news of the gospel.
Charlie Grandy: Charlie serves on the OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA Center Advisory Board and Spiritual Emphasis Committee and is a member of New Hope Christian Church in Whitestown, Ind. Charlie is a practicing attorney (recently retired from Eli Lilly), a former engineer and recently earned his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.
