“Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.”

Preparing Teens for College and Career

Y Achievers, a national college and career access and readiness program, has been helping teens reach their full potential since 1967. A major thrust of the program is to assist teens in establishing and meeting high academic and career expectations. And yet, the effort goes a step further. It focuses on character development as well, helping teens strengthen positive traits such as respect, responsibility, honesty and caring, as well as self esteem. These values, in turn, can aid them in leading healthy, productive lives.

Let's take a look at what Y Achievers alumni in Indianapolis have been up to and what they have to say about the program.

A Large, Lasting Impact

“This college readiness program has had a large impact on me and preparation toward college. Y Achievers prepared me for how my social life would be different during college. We did activities where we had to problem solve by communicating without words or writing. Those activities taught our group how to work and communicate with others. It has taught me great deal of skills I should use throughout my life and in college.” - Victoria V
