YMCA Summer Day Camp Information
Camp Options
Campers enjoy the amenities a YMCA facility center has to offer, like pools, gyms, sports fields, and other great outdoor spaces. Activities at Traditional Camp can include swimming, arts & crafts, archery, gaga ball, and so much more! At many locations, campers can choose to add on enrichment and sports clinics as part of their camp day for an additional fee.
This is the perfect camp to keep your mind and body active this summer! Campers rotate throughout the day to exciting STEAM based activities (science, technology, engineering, arts, & math). At many locations, campers can choose to add on enrichment and sports clinics as part of their camp day for an additional fee.
Add a clinic to your camper’s day to explore something new or dive into an existing passion! Clinics are available for ages 5-12 and span a wide variety of interests, from rock climbing to horseback riding!
Please note that enrichment and sports clinics are not eligible for financial assistance.
Program Components
Unplug & Reconnect
At the YMCA, providing safe, high-quality, and enriching experiences for all youth has always been our purpose. YMCA summer programs are full of life-changing experiences and unforgettable memories. The YMCA is a place not only to explore and play but a place for kids to learn and develop skills needed as they grow.
Achievement
Every child has the opportunity to try something new this summer and leave the YMCA with a new skill. This could be trying their hand at archery, learning how to make friendship bracelets, or even developing their leadership skills by leading a group activity. Every child should have the chance to step outside of their comfort zone to experience new things.
Relationships
We want every child to make a connection at the Y with fellow participants and the staff. We help kids not only make new friends but learn how to be good friends, too. We do this through intentional team-building activities, opportunities to learn about those around us, and activities focused on our four core values.
Belonging
Every child should feel safe and at home at the Y. The YMCA is a space to be yourself and be welcomed by the people around you! We create this sense of belonging through our traditions and the relationships we build.
Core Values
At the YMCA, we have four core values that are embedded and taught every day. These values are at the heart of all YMCA youth programs.
- Caring: Being considerate of the needs and feelings of others
- Honesty: Being trustworthy and truthful
- Respect: Treating others, the environment, and yourself with dignity
- Responsibility: Accepting accountability for your actions and role in the community
