Our Water Access for Very Exceptional Swimmers (WAVES) lessons are designed to provide our instructors with the individualized time to provide the proper supports to swim students with exceptional needs from our community. Parents/guardians/caregivers are encouraged to work with students’ paired instructors to come up with a comprehensive plan for what the students’ swim goals may be. Lessons may be focuses on safety in and around water and/or developing technique. Parents/guardians/caregivers may be encouraged to swim with participants as well.

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis has tumbling classes you’ll flip for!
We teach athletes to tumble, run, jump and twist in our program while helping them to develop muscular strength, flexibility and body awareness. Our programs are designed to provide a safe, nurturing environment for athletes to develop tumbling skills, as well as the four YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. You’ll love the combination of quality tumbling and fun provided by our highly qualified staff! Classes meet one day per week.
Cheer, jump, tumble!
Young cheerleaders will have the chance to get active and have fun cheering while they build self-confidence and self-esteem. Cheerleading combines gymnastics, tumbling, cardio, and dance. Cheerleaders will learn basic changes, cheers, and formations.
Developmental Basketball Clinic
Learn and Love the Game!
Interactive skill development lead by the YMCA’s best basketball coaches! Athletes will learn the rules of the game, terminology, and will run through various skill drills and agilities to develop fundamental skills, improve their footwork, and sharpen their practice skills during the off season.
Learn the sport for you!
Each week a new sport and games will be introduced including basketball, football, soccer, and t-ball skills. Basic skills will be covered incorporating socialization skills within the class format. A fun learning environment where you can enjoy some time with your kids and learn which sports, they enjoy the most.
Developmental Soccer Clinics
Have fun playing one of the most popular sports in the world!
Athletes will learn the rules of the game and have the opportunities to practice and refine their soccer skills through a games-centered teaching approach that enhances each player’s desire for soccer, while teaching proper soccer techniques for future soccer achievement. In the YMCA Developmental Soccer Clinics, you will work on various techniques and skills based on your age and level, some of these techniques include dribbling, passing, receiving, shielding, and shooting.
Rec Leagues: Leaguers with basic fundamentals play with a volunteer parent coach. No scores or records are kept. Typically, games/practices are at one location, however, there may be a week where Fishers YMCA teams crossover to play Jordan YMCA teams (no more than once per season.)
All-City Leagues: Players must have previous experience. Fishers Y teams formed will play other Indianapolis-area YMCA teams. A season consists of three home games and three away games plus a season-ending tournament. Games will be played only on Saturday afternoons. Staff & volunteer parents will be our coaches. Equal playing time is not guaranteed. Records are kept for the season. Participants will receive an upgraded jersey.

All-City Track & Field Season
Soccer / Futsal League
Youth Soccer is an exciting sport combining team play and individual skills.
Rec – (Ages 4-13) Kids are taught basic rules and game skills such as trapping, dribbling, passing and shooting as well as goalie skills. Every session will include a practice and end with a non-scored game.
Rec + – (Ages 6-16) Recreational model with emphasis on skill development and travel games to other centers in the district. Athletes will learn the rules of the game as they travel to other YMCA’s within their district for competition, and also getting extra instruction visiting coaches once per week.
All City – (Ages 6-16) Your child will learn to dribble, pass and strike the ball correctly, the positions of the game and game day strategy. Athletes will play teams from all over the city throughout the season! This league is capped off with a citywide tournament. Teams will practice at least once per week with games on Saturdays.
Learning a martial art builds lifelong skills. It’s a great way to improve coordination and focus, refine agility and motor skills along with goal-setting and focus skills. Students in this traditional martial arts program maintain a healthy lifestyle, get a whole-body workout, relieve stress and develop self-defense skills in a non-competitive, welcoming environment.
Work with a certified trainer, review goals, and develop a customized exercise program to meet your needs. Your trainer will guide you through each exercise offering feedback, motivation, and accountability.
